GENESIS

I've attended all sorts of car shows that's been held here, I've seen the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), Otoblitz International Classic Car Show (OICCS), Hot Import Nights (HIN), Accelera Auto Contest and many more. But never have I seen a car show and gathering like GENESIS.

The IIMS is mostly filled with commercial production cars, and only a few sport and exotic cars, and the OICCS would only be interesting to those who likes classic cars. GENESIS was a car show/competition/gathering, there were cars that signed up for show and competition, and also several communities such as MOCI and SpeedCreed gathered at GENESIS to have the usual gathering and witness the beginning of this epic car show. GENESIS is a collaboration between hawk'n'poke and Hellaflush and it is the first, proper modified car show that's been held in Indonesia.

We'd like to say congratulations for the hawk'n'poke team for being able to pull such a great event, and thank you for finally realizing our dreams of seeing this kind of car show here in Indonesia. As they've said, this is just the beginning, and hopefully we'll see more of these car shows in the future.

All of our crews were very excited to attend the event, Ical was the first to arrive, we'll show his video of GENESIS soon enough, I was the second to arrive just as the cars were coming in.

A great way to start your morning is by seeing this massive Mercedes-Benz S-Class on HRE. Yes, we'd love to make this our very own SpeedHooked transport car. This was one of the first cars that gathered.

Don't like the Germans? Try this Lexus GS also known as the Aristo. This was one of the winners.

This line-up of BMW is simply mouth-watering. This photo was taken by a contributor, M. Taufan also known as ipandesign.

The sun started to shine. Okay, it was cloudy and raining a bit so there wasn't any sun visible, but that didn't stopped us from taking photographs. See the guy in the black? Wanna guess who he is? His passion for cars kept him going on the cloudy day.

As I've said, other than the cars that registered for the show, there were also communities that gathered at GENESIS, such as the nuvolks, with a dash of Porsche.

Despite the cloudy weather, this guy still put down the roof of his Z3. We salute his ride, and his bravery on putting down the roof.

The sun finally started showing, and Yashoa spotted these two beautiful Alfa Romeo. They weren't part of the competition, but they should be. The owners of these Alfas sure has taste by keeping their car clean and simple, and they chose the perfect color for an Alfa Romeo.

Later on, a group called SpeedArchitect arrived, and they had these 2 epic Nissan for us to see. Would you prefer the original daddy or it's grandson? Your choice.

In terms of look, I think the Datsun 240Z is a much better looking car.

Speaking of Nissan, check out this nice and clean Datsun 510 Bluebird.

And there was this McLaren MP4-12C Singapore Edition. I had no idea there was such a McLaren called the Singapore Edition. Photos were also taken by ipandesign.

Speaking of communities, SpeedCreed was also there, this California belonged to the group. The driver wore a mask, we assume he's the president of SpeedCreed, but we're not sure about the guy beside him. Either he's wearing a mask horse, or he actually is a horse. Photo by Fauzan F.

Tired of show cars? This racing Yaris participates in ISOM (Indonesia Series of Motorsport). We like.

Old Mercedes never grow old.

What's a car show without any models? Photo also by Fauzan F.

I was so happy for being able to see all these cool cars, and looks like this little guy here also enjoyed the show. Look at him, he's so happy after seeing that Nissan GT-R behind him. Either that or he just took a pee on that traffic cone.

This Shelby GT500 also took part in GENESIS. When this car entered the parking lot, there was this feel of massive supercharged V8 terror. The Shelby is the car that would awaken the 10-year old inside of us, no matter how old you are, you'll be excited when you see one of these. Especially when you see the supercharger that this car has, I had a radio that was the size of this car's supercharger.

This estate BMW 5-series wasn't part of the show, nor was it gathering with any communities, but estates are so cool I had to take picture of this car.

The winners of GENESIS in their respective categories along with Mr. Bliss from Hellaflush.

The sun sets, and the moon is rising, with the winners already received their prizes and the cars started leaving, it was finally time to go home. The hawk'n'poke crew were tired, the contestants were tired, I was tired, the rest of the S//H crew were tired, it was time to pack our cameras and go home.

I'll be honest, the GENESIS event still has a few rough edges to fix, but it is a wonderful event, I am surely looking forward for the GENESIS next year and hoping that I will see an even more epic collection of cars. Once again, congratulations the hawk'n'poke team, every car enthusiast in Indonesia thanks you for gathering all these amazing cars at one place.

///M Owners Club Indonesia Skills Day

The smell of burning rubber with the mixed sound of screaming engines and screeching tires is music to every petrolhead's ears. We love seeing great looking, exotic, rare cars going sideways and revving their engine up to the redline. It's simply beautiful, and the ///M Owners Club Indonesia (MOCI) Skills Day held on February 16th is one of the rare events where you could see all that.

It was more of a gathering rather than a contest, but the event had drag races, slaloms, and freestyle. Alongside MOCI, the Supercar Club Indonesia (SCCi) was also taking part in this gathering, making the whole thing more epic.

The super-engineered Germans, designed to be precise to the millimeter.

BMW's latest ///M masterpiece. Straight-6cylinder at the front, rear-wheel drive, making it the perfect sports car. A bit like the old E46 M3 we think (which also used straight-6), however this is more modern.

As we've said before, the SCCi was also taking part in this event, so it was no surprise when we saw the exotic Italians making the whole event more exciting.

The Germans may be more precise, but the Italians simply look better.

Italy's mad orange-colored bull meets the more sensible German supercars. Although the new Aventador has signs that Audi was involved in making the car, the new Aventador is still as Italian as the first Miura.

Fancy a high-performance machine such as Lambos and Ferraris but don't want to deal with the impracticality? Worry not, the all-rounder, practical, twin-turbo V8 BMW M5 will solve all your problems.

The Prancing Horses are ready to show what they've got. These Horses were made for performance, it runs in their blood.

The famous McLaren MP4-12C also showed up. The British rival of the Ferrari 458 has the racing pedigree and it's keen to show what it's got.

"Ready...Set...Go!"

The McLaren doesn't use the usual roll-bars you'd find in other supercars, instead it has fluid-suspension (we don't really understand either) and it's all computerized. All four wheels are independent from one to another, making this car great at cornering, so it should do well in a slalom competition.

This guy is serious about downforce, as you can see from the gigantic spoiler, he obviously needs more downforce on his M3.

The glorious BMW M3 CSL. It was a limited edition of the standard M3, only 1.400 of these were built. It's lighter and more powerful than the standard M3.

Despite weighing nearly 2-tons, the BMW M5 could still pull a spectacular slide. The laws of physics doesn't apply to the BMW M5.

AMG Mercs are full of torque. The V8 in AMG Mercs are just bonkers, a little push on the gas pedal and suddenly the rear wheels are spinning. We like that.

That's about it from the ///M Owners Club Indonesia Skills Day at PRJ Kemayoran. Lots of epic cars, loud engines, and screeching tires. Truly a fantastic way to spend your day. We're hoping that events like this will be held more often in the future.

ANNOUNCEMENT: New Member

The Site Grows, we are in the need of a new and fresh contributors.
Well we've got a new one. His name is Yashoa Sepyanda Nasution. Here are some of his photos

And more to come from the fantastic Yanda. Be sure to stay tuned for his photos. Cheers!

Regards, SpeedHooked.

Euros Don't Die, They Grow. A Lot.

These days, passion for cars are getting higher and higher over the time. The amount of modifications are just endless for cars old and new. Such as these guys.

Last january i went to the Euro Car Meet which was at the same time with the RajaMobil Import Car Exhibition. It was fun though...

I went there with my two friends, Agung and Arianda. I and Agung met Arianda there at the Rasuna Kuningan Epiwalk. He happened to show with his Peugeot 505 GTi That he had worked on for years with his dad.

He was a keen photographer himself. With just a Fujifilm digital camera that he own, he roam about the Epiwalk, and takes photo all the time.

On with the show then..

First that I came about is this Peugeot 206, which was suited for it's own nature. WRC or even Rally Style. Just look at those two big Halogen lights that they used for lighting at the WRC before the HID lights were popular then.

Then, there's this orange VW Beetle. Mind you, the Herbie styled one, is left hand drive. Very rare indeed. It's like finding an extinct insect.. If you know what I mean..

Then I came across the Volvo Independent Car Club (VICC for short). This very flushed S80 Volvo, is my friend brother's, Mr. Deddy, whose brother, Dendy, drives the yellow Suzuki Swift we had earlier.

Also which is very eye catching are these W123 Mercs. Which, as you see the right one is based on an AMG style bodykit, and the left one is Brabus style which has a Belgium headlight frame. Carporn is the word for these two

Everybody seems interested. Even this kid, he wears the Scuderia Ferrari, Vodafone shirt. Kid's got swag.

As the day passes, more and more cars showed up. Adding the "EU" to euphoria of this event

You should... Yes. But you have to disobey this if you see this lot..

Yes.. Two epic supercars, the Aventador and the 458 Italia.

Seems your number plate is not out yet, bro..

And this 325i, which used to belong to a lady named Anggi Asmara, showed up also at this meet. Eventhough this car has been seen roaming a lot of times in Bintaro, I am never bored at two-doors BMW's

Hours pass by, the meet seems to attract more and more people.

Rarities come and goes. Like this very beautiful 350SL Mercedes. It's like meeting Marilyn Monroe back in those days.

Also this catches my eyes, a 430 Suderia on ADV1.'s

But this Porsche attracts me most. The 911S.

When this pulls out, the voice of the Flat-6 engine just blew my heart to pieces. Loud and raw.

Also this unique Volvo that has been marked by Chuck Norris. LOL. Clean interior though. Very well played by this dude.
